Pharr (Hidalgo County) — It won’t be much longer before works starts on a 19,778-square-foot partial renovation of City Hall.
The City Commission agreed earlier this year to renovate the first floor and mezzanine of the City Hall building at 118 S. Cage Boulevard.
On Feb. 27, McAllen-based Brownstone Consultants LLC was awarded the construction manager-agent contract for the renovation.
The project solicitation, issued in January, attracted seven bids. The other companies were the McAllen firms of Arkiiform Architecture & Management; B2Z Engineering LLC and NM Contracting LLC; Edinburg-based Ro Engineering; Houston-based Morganti; and Austin-based Driftwood Commercial LLC.
The McAllen office ERO Architects has been the design firm. ERO reported to the state on June 8 that the project should start construction by July 7 and be finished by Jan. 31, 2021.
The renovation has an estimated cost of $2.1 million.
