San Antonio (Bexar County) — H-E-B has completed construction and opened its new Culebra & 211 H-E-B store at 15489 Culebra Road, expanding the grocer’s footprint on the city’s far West Side.

The 120,000-square-foot store is designed to serve rapidly growing residential areas along Culebra Road as well as nearby communities around Medina Lake.

The newly built store includes a full-service H-E-B Pharmacy, True Texas BBQ restaurant, curbside pickup and home delivery facilities, and a Texas Backyard department. The site was developed with both in-store and drive-thru components, allowing for multiple service options, including pharmacy and barbecue drive-thrus. The store will operate daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., with the on-site restaurant open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

From a construction and design standpoint, the project incorporates energy-efficient systems and sustainability features, including CO₂ refrigeration units, LED lighting, and extensive native landscaping throughout the property. H-E-B designed the building and site layout to accommodate high traffic volumes while supporting long-term operational efficiency in a fast-growing corridor of the city.

The Culebra & 211 H-E-B employs more than 425 workers and represents a significant investment in West San Antonio’s retail infrastructure. In conjunction with the store’s opening, H-E-B also contributed $45,000 to local education foundations serving surrounding school districts, reinforcing the company’s continued investment in the communities tied to its new developments.
