Fort Worth (Tarrant County) — National mixed-use investor, developer, and operator Trademark Property Company (Trademark) has announced the official groundbreaking of Westbend Residences, a 321-unit multifamily community in the city’s University District.
Trademark is slated to deliver the community in the first quarter of 2027.
Situated on 3.5 acres along the Trinity Trails, Westbend Residences is located in one of Fort Worth’s most walkable urban neighborhoods, offering direct access to Texas Christian University, premier retail and dining options, as well as outdoor recreation, including public amenities oriented towards the trail. The seven-story community will feature premium finishes, two resort-style pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a dog spa, and a two-story parking garage. A new ground-floor restaurant space will expand the district’s dining offerings and enhance street-level activity.
“Our multifamily strategy emphasizes delivering a high-quality residential experience in mixed-use environments, and Westbend Residences is a perfect example of this,” said Chad A. Colley, multifamily & mixed-use partner at Trademark. “We’ve designed this community to embrace its surroundings by connecting residents directly to everything the University District and the Trinity Trail has to offer, while also creating a vibrant living environment with premium amenities and thoughtful design.”
Westbend Residences marks the second phase of the Westbend mixed-use community. Trademark redeveloped the first phase in 2016, which comprises 281,000 square feet of office and retail space. The district features an extensive public art program, including the iconic Love sculpture by Laura Kimpton, works from the Amon Carter photography collection, and a series of curated murals by well-known local artists.
The property will include a new street connection at the traffic light at Collinsworth Street and S. University Dr., improving pedestrian and vehicle access while enhancing public amenities along the Trinity Trails network. The sustainable project is also designed to meet National Green Building Standards (NGBS) and qualifies for LEED Silver certification.
“Expanding our mix of uses at Westbend allows us to create a walkable neighborhood where residential, office, retail, and public spaces come together to form a true mixed-use community,” said Terry Montesi, founder and CEO at Trademark. “Westbend Residences exemplifies our broader vision of developing premium rental housing in walkable highly amenitized locations.”
