Celina (Denton County) — The City of Celina hosted its official hose uncoupling ceremony for Fire Station #3 on April 4.

Fire Station #3, which is located at 4400 FM 1385 in Aubrey, is a new, state-of-the-art 23,000 square-foot facility that will house five apparatus bays, a community room, living, dining, and sleeping quarters, a gym, locker rooms and a training room.

Fire Station #3 was designed by Addison-based Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED) Architects and was constructed by Crossland Construction, the general contractor that also built Fire Station #1 located on Preston Road. The new fire station will feature a historical museum and mural painted on the side of the facility that will showcase the Celina Fire Department’s rich history.

“We are thrilled to open Celina’s third fire station in an area that has experienced exponential growth since the design and architectural work began on this project. Fire Station #3 will serve the entire western half of Celina, which will lead to quicker response times when moments often can make a critical difference. I am so pleased to welcome the community to this new station and for the public to see the City’s commitment to public safety with this incredible new facility,” said Mark Metdker, Celina’s Fire Chief.

“Our single most important priority to our longtime residents and new families moving to Celina is exceptional public safety. This station satisfies the overwhelming need for a facility like this on our west side and strengthens our longstanding commitment to maintaining our level of public safety services as we grow, and even ahead of the growth that will continue in that area,” said Mayor Ryan Tubbs.

The Fire Department will be hosting a community grand opening on April 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
