Bryan (Brazos County) — City officials have announced a new partnership with REV Entertainment, the official sports and entertainment partner of the Texas Rangers, to explore a potential long-term redevelopment plan for Travis Major Field, Travis Bryan Midtown Park and the surrounding area.

This initiative aligns directly with Bryan’s vision to elevate Midtown Park into a regional hub for sports, entertainment, and mixed-use activity.

As part of the six-month agreement, REV Entertainment will conduct a thorough feasibility study to assess the viability of Travis Major Field as a catalyst in Bryan’s expanding sports and event tourism economy.

The study does not commit the city to future construction or renovation. It is intended to guide future decision-making by evaluating the field’s viability as a contributor to Bryan’s growing sports and event tourism economy.

“REV Entertainment brings a high level of experience and a national reputation in sports and venue development,” said Bryan Mayor Bobby Gutierrez. “We look forward to seeing what their analysis produces as we explore the best opportunities to maximize Travis Major Field that will complement Legends Event Center and the entire Travis Bryan Midtown Park for future generations.”

REV Entertainment will lead the public-private initiative, including:

  • Conceptual design for renovations to Travis Major Field and surrounding mixed-use development
  • A budget proposal and development schedule
  • Outreach to professional sports leagues to explore potential tenancy
  • A strategy for year-round, multi-use programming beyond baseball

“We are thrilled to partner with the City of Bryan on this project,” said Sean Decker, president of REV Entertainment. “We are grateful for the opportunity to work with the city to reimagine a new future for Travis Major Field and the surrounding area, with the goal of supporting year-round sports, entertainment, and community programming.”

Built in the late 1940s and acquired by the city in 1956, Travis Major Field has long served as a cornerstone of local athletics. This marks the city’s first formal, comprehensive planning effort to evaluate the field’s potential within a broader vision for Travis Bryan Midtown Park.

VBX will continue to monitor the results of the feasibility study.
