Bastrop (Bastrop County) — SpaceX is set to construct a large facility within the city this fall, according to an architectural barrier project report registered with a state regulatory agency.
The spacecraft manufacturer’s Project Echo will be a $43 million, 521,521 square foot shell building.
SpaceX test facility in McGregor is listed as the property owner, according to the report filed Sept. 12 with the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation.
Construction on the project is slated to begin on Oct. 1 and be completed by July 1, 2023.
Project Echo will be located at 816 FM 1209 in the northwest portion of the city.
West Lake Hills-based architects TAG International LLP are on board the project.
