Dallas (Dallas County) — American Airlines is expanding its premium facilities at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), announcing plans for a new 37,000-square-foot Admirals Club lounge, a dedicated Flagship check-in facility and a Provisions by Admirals Club concept as part of ongoing investments at its largest hub.
The centerpiece of the announcement is a new Admirals Club in Terminal C that will become the largest lounge in the airline’s network. Located adjacent to the Terminal C Skylink station, the approximately 37,000-square-foot facility will replace existing lounge space with a significantly larger, modernized premium passenger environment.
From a construction perspective, the project includes the build-out of a large interior hospitality space featuring multiple seating environments, business and work areas, food and beverage service facilities, premium restrooms, upgraded finishes, lighting systems, mechanical and electrical improvements and supporting back-of-house operations. The lounge is expected to incorporate extensive architectural millwork, high-end interior finishes, commercial kitchen infrastructure and technology systems consistent with American’s newest premium lounge designs.
The projects are part of broader capital investments at DFW, where American operates its largest global hub. The airline currently schedules more than 930 peak-day departures from the airport, with over 30% of its connecting passengers and connecting daily departures from the airport, with over 30% of its connecting passengers and conpeak-day departures from the airport, with over 30% of its connecting passengers and necting checked baggage moving through DFW each day.
American also announced a new Flagship check-in facility in Terminal D near the D30 security checkpoint. Scheduled to open later this year, the project includes construction of a dedicated premium check-in area with individualized service counters, upgraded passenger processing areas, enhanced interior finishes and direct access to the airport’s security screening checkpoint.
In addition, the airline plans to construct a Provisions by Admirals Club location in the first phase of DFW’s future Terminal F development. The smaller-format lounge will function as a grab-and-go hospitality concept featuring food and beverage service, retail-style display areas and passenger seating designed for travelers making quick connections. American indicated additional premium facilities are planned for future phases of Terminal F as the terminal expands.
While American Airlines did not identify the architect, general contractor or construction schedule for the new Admirals Club or Terminal C improvements, the projects are expected to involve significant interior renovation and tenant improvement work within active airport facilities, requiring phased construction, coordination with airport operations and specialized aviation construction expertise.
The lounge expansion also aligns with the ongoing redevelopment of Terminal C and the broader modernization occurring across DFW, including the planned expansion of Terminal F. Together, the projects represent continued investment in airport infrastructure and premium passenger amenities while creating additional opportunities for contractors specializing in aviation interiors, hospitality construction, mechanical and electrical systems, architectural finishes and airport tenant improvements.
American said additional details regarding later phases of the Terminal F premium facilities will be released as development plans progress.
