Temple (Bell County)–An Austin firm is beginning engineering on the estimated $8 million Hartrick Bluff Road improvement project.

Walker Partners LLC will oversee the final design of upgrades on Hartrick Bluff from Waters Dairy Road to Farm Road 93.

City Council voted April 16 to approve a $580,400 professional services agreement with Walker Partners.

Planned improvements include expanded pavement sections, pedestrian upgrades, and drainage conveyance. The project also involves upgrades of the Friar’s Creek bridge.

The city has identified 18 parcels for acquisition as part of the road reconstruction project.

The city engineer estimates it will take about nine months to complete the rest of the design.

The engineer estimates construction will cost $8.05 million. There is currently no estimated construction timeline, but design-build is the anticipated project delivery method.
