Austin (Travis County) — The Austin office of a national developer received approval of its community benefits in accordance with the city’s land development code for a mixed-use tower project during the Sept. 13 meeting of the Planning Commission.

Intracorp Homes, led by Operations Manager Cynthia Pope, is proposing to develop Conrad Residences Austin. The estimated cost of the development is $235 million.

The mixed-use building will consist of 125 luxurious condominiums above a 330-room Hilton Conrad Hotel with 9,621 square feet of ground-floor pedestrian-oriented uses and associated residential parking, utility and drainage infrastructure.

The one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom luxury residences were carefully composed by the Austin offices of Rottet Studio and Page Architects to provide compelling views. The residences portion of the project will be located on floors 39 – 65.

The project is currently in review for a site development permit, along with an administrative review for the city’s Downtown Density Bonus Program.

The Austin office of Kimley-Horn, led by Project Engineer Harrison Hudson, and Austin-based landscape architects Hitchcock Design Group are on board the project.

Intracorp Homes is requesting to relocate the Leonard and Vida East House, a one-story L-plan frame home, from the existing site at 307 E. 2nd St. in the city’s Rainey District to 1200 Paul Teresa Saldana St.

Cost of the relocation and restoration work is estimated at $301,650. The proposed new location will be adjacent to a park and community garden; it will be restored to its historic appearance and has the potential to interpret this house as an important chapter in the history of Austin.
