Georgetown (Williamson County) — A Georgetown developer received rezoning for a hotel and retail development at last week’s meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission.

The 16.2-acre property will convert from agricultural (AG) to the general commercial (C-3) zoning.

The site is undeveloped and located south of the Interstate 35 and State Highway 130 intersection, near the proposed Titan Park 35 development, in the northeast portion of the city.

Iqbal Maredia with Antiz LLC is proposing to develop the property in a manner that would help the area’s supply chain under the name Neu Hub Apex.

Maredia submitted a letter to the commission that stated the rezoning would allow for a hotel, with conference rooms, that would compliment Titan Park 35, along with other commercial entities.

Additionally, Maredia added that restaurants owned by local businesses could also be developed, along with “a very upscale convenience store: with multiple Tesla rapid charging stations, a coffee shop with free Wi-Fi where customers could work while recharging their electric vehicles and traditional fueling stations.

Maredia stated that development would have access to Wittera Way on its southern boundary that would also provide fire department access.

Tim Harris with I35 & 130 Investment LTD, out of Austin currently owns the property.

City Council is expected to hold a first reading on the recommendation on Jan. 25 and second reading on Feb. 8.
