Edinburg: Bids Due Mid-April for Veterans Park at Linn-San Manuel

Edinburg (Hidalgo County) — County officials have extended the due date for general contractor submissions on the Linn-San Manuel Veterans Park construction project to April 15.

The April 1 due date was revised by addendum. In addition, on March 25,  the design firm, SDI Engineering LLC reported to the state that the estimated construction start date is June 1.

The project is anticipated to be completed by Dec. 31 at a cost of about $2.1 million.

The 15.85-acre park will be located in the unincorporated community of Linn, north of Edinburg, at 22200 FM 1017, near Brewster Elementary School.

Amenities and facilities in the park will include basketball courts with a 220-square-foot covered pavilion, a softball field and baseball field, walking trail, playscape, and a 1,063-square-foot building with spaces for a concession stand, bathrooms, and storage.

The park will also have a surface parking lot, landscaping and hardscaping.

Construction tasks include but are not limited to selective demolition, concrete, masonry, metals, wood, plastics, composites, signage, a flagpole, equipment, special construction, earthwork, exterior improvements, utilities, traffic control equipment, mechanical and electrical.
