Texas Construction News from Virtual Builders Exchange

by Adolfo Pesquera

Arlington (Tarrant County) – Duluth Holdings Inc. plans to build a Duluth Trading Company store in Arlington and has invited certain general contractors to submit bids. This is a rebid with a September 19 deadline.

Another Duluth Trading store breaks ground this month in Lubbock, and construction documents are pending for a store in Denton. These will be Duluth Trading’s first stores in Texas.

The Duluth Trading store will be located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Interstate 20 and Osprey Drive, just north of the Arlington Municipal Airport.

The facility developer/owner on this site is Oppidan Investment Company of Excelsior, Minnesota. Oppidan specializes in retail, multifamily and some mixed use development.

The Arlington story will be a 2-story, 40-foot-tall structure with an area of about 14,459 square feet. It will include an mezzanine level with a balcony that overlooks the center section of the ground floor.

Interwork Architects Inc. of Northbrook, Illinois prepared the architectural documents. An Interwork report to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation puts the Arlington project at an estimated cost of $2,657,000. Construction is estimated to reach completion by May 1, 2018.

Interwork is also the designer of a Duluth Trading store in Lubbock. According to state records, the Lubbock store has an estimated cost of $1.2 milion.

The Lubbock store will be located at 2510 West Loop 289 and the construction timeline is from September to February 2018.

The facility owner for the Lubbock store is Pagosa Partners IV Ltd. of Lubbock.

Duluth Trading is a rapidly growing lifestyle brand. Duluth Trading announced earlier today (Sept. 7) the grand opening of its 25th store; this one is located in Thornton, Colorado.

“The Thornton store, which serves the Denver metropolitan area, is our first entry into the Western market, and we are very excited to bring our unique retail experience and solution-based apparel to our many loyal customers throughout the region,” Duluth Trading Chief Executive Officer Stephanie Pugliese said in a prepared statement.

“Our local customers and visitors to the Denver area can now enjoy firsthand the unique Duluth Trading experience that celebrates both the Modern, Self-Reliant American Lifestyle that is the hallmark of our brand and the spirit of Colorado.”

Duluth Trading is based in Belleville, Wisconsin.
