Buda (Hays County) — The Buda City Council approved a permit for a vehicle sales business in a meeting earlier this month.
The property, located on the east side of northbound Interstate 35 Frontage Road between MG Machinery and ATX Fence, will be a John Deere dealership in the southwest portion of the city.
The Buda Planning and Zoning Commission recommended the request for approval in March. The city annexed the property in November of 2015.
The John Deere building will be a one-story, sales and service facility on approximately 20.48 acres. The building will be 33 feet in height.
The retail and office areas will face the Interstate 35 Frontage Road. There will also be a garage structure to the rear of the front of the retail and office area.
According to the site plan provided to the city by the civil engineering Austin office of WGI these are the listed specifications:
Two six foot masonry walls with a 26 foot manual vehicle gate
A proposed building with 29,333 square feet (coverage), 32,400 square feet (gross)
An automated motorized gate
A contech water quality structure
A six foot chain link fence
A proposed oil separator
A proposed truck wash of 3,600 square feet
Three proposed septic tanks
A proposed fire hydrant
According to city documents, the owner of the property is Proffutt Limited Partnership, the developer is R.D.O. Equipment and the architect on the project is R.D. Offutt Company — all out of Fargo, North Dakota.
