Bee Cave (Travis County) — A local independent private school received a site plan amendment to expand its campus during a recent meeting of the City Council.

The International School of Texas (IST), which is headquartered in Austin and led by Co-Chair Chad Anson, is proposing to construct two additional buildings to its campus.

The amendment is proposing two, two-story buildings with a maximum height of 35-feet.  One to house an additional 11,660 square foot building and the other a 11,244 square foot gymnasium.

The academic building will hold science, technology, engineering and math, design, art labs and  performing arts classrooms.

With the proposed expansion, the IST site will have 80,306 square feet of impervious cover.

Assistant Regional Manager Jason Rodgers with Austin-based Bleyl Engineering and Chelsea Koh with Haddon + Cowan Architects, also out of Austin, are on board the project.

The project expansion will be located over 3.27 acres at 15506 West State Highway 71.

Upon completion, the IST will have a total enrollment of 110 elementary and 55 middle school students.
