Austin (Travis County) — A local developer had their rezoning request for a proposed townhome project postponed during Tuesday’s meeting of the Planning Commission.

The commission postponed the request in order to hold public comments on the rezoning at its Feb. 8 meeting.

The 0.95-acre property is seeking to convert from commercial services (CS) to commercial services-mixed use (CS-MU) with a conditional overlay for 10 units, along with a future land use designation from single family to mixed use.

City staff is recommending approval of the rezoning, according to city documents.

The site is located at 2404 Thrasher Lane in the city’s Montopolis neighborhood.

Gino Shvetz with Alpha Builders Group, Inc. is proposing to construct a 10-unit townhome project.

Alpha Builders Group specializes in building homes and condos in Texas and Florida, according to their website.

The working title of the project takes its cue from the property’s acreage and the developer’s name and is Alpha .95.

Nikelle Meade with Husch Blackwell, LLP will represent the project to the commission.

The architectural firm N-Vizion, out of Austin, is on board the project.
