Palacios, TX (Matagorda Co.) –

Work includes the construction of New 6-12 Campus, Fine Arts Renovation and Football Stadium Renovation, Bid Package #2, for all scopes of work including Earthwork and Utilities. Main Earthwork and Utility scope for the 6-12 building were included in the Baseball/Softball Package. Earthwork and Utility Contractors are to only bid areas not defined in the Baseball/Softball/6-12 Building Area.

The New 6-12 Campus will be designed for 750 students, 6th Grade through 12th grade at approximately 194,682 square feet. The site surrounding the school will be designed with an efficient drop-off area for both parents and buses, as well as student parking, outdoor playgrounds, outdoor learning, CTE yards and athletic improvements;

The new school will have 4 core, two story academic areas with each area having instructional studios for general classrooms and/or combination science lab/classrooms. Each core area shall include a centralized ‘hub” area, toilets, and ancillary areas. Special program areas shall consist of a flex suite for 5 purpose function, CTE area of culinary, wood working, and metal shop;

Site Improvements include multiple aluminum walkways, multiple concrete parking lots, fencing, hardscape and landscape outdoor learning areas, and utilities. The Project will include demolition of existing facilities on site, to accommodate the new approximately 194,682 square feet building. Project includes all scopes required for all sitework, site furnishings, building components, and systems defined by the project plans.

The fine arts renovation will consist of new miscellaneous exterior repairs and deferred maintenance. Work will include replacement of sealant, roofs and gutters, sealing of exterior masonry, replacement of door hardware to meet ADA and adding access controls for security as well as painting of exterior doors, replacement of student entry storefront, new building signage and new lenses and lighting;

The interior renovations of the project will consist of miscellaneous repairs, upgrades and deferred maintenance. Work will include replacement of door hardware to meet ADA, upgrade of lighting fixtures, adding instrument storage in the band hall, new millwork in the drama and band offices, new lighting fixtures and sound system in the auditorium and adding floor tile to the corridors. The restrooms within the building will be brought up to ADA/TAS requirements which will consist of remodeling of restroom spaces to increase clearances around toilets and lavatories and to allow for accommodating people with disabilities.

The Football Stadium Renovation will consist of New Pressbox for stadium (prefab) with bleachers. New bleachers on west side for Home Football stands are to accommodate 2500 seats. Additionally a new Concession/Toilet building is to be installed along with additional sidewalk and fencing.
