Our staff maintains direct (personal) contact with sources to update information throughout the bid cycle. This ensures that prospective bidders are aware of changes as they occur and have accurate information prior to preparing their bid.

Our History
Founded in 1900 as the Builders Exchange of Texas, we’ve served the construction industry since bid results were posted on black boards and mules pulled supplies to the job site. We were the first to take the plan room virtual.
Today, we provide the most sophisticated online plan distribution and document management service available anywhere in the United States.
Throughout our long history, the Builders Exchange has been just what the name implies – a place for construction professionals to find and exchange critical information during all phases of the construction process.

Our Team
Michael Tollette
Chief Executive Officer
Michael joined VBX in February of 1993 and is a senior partner and co-owner. He is responsible for building the technology our members benefit from today.
He is past-president of the Builders Exchange Network (BXNet – formerly International Builders Exchange Executives), a confederation of plan room service providers located in Canada and the United States.
He is a two-time winner of the BXNet Management Award and recipient of its’ No Boundaries Award for innovation and creative vision in developing plan room services.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Sociology from Southwest Texas State University. Michael is best known for applying abstract thinking to solve complex problems that give everyone else a headache.
Brenda Romano
Chief Operating Officer
Brenda joined VBX in January of 2005 and is a co-owner. She manages the day-to-day operations of the organization and is passionate about the construction industry.
Romano is the Past-President of the Builders Exchange Network (BXNet) and is recognized throughout the U.S. and Canada as a professional facilitator, business coach and guest speaker on construction-related topics.
She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
Brenda is best known for being an energetic and entertaining public speaker that is passionate about the construction industry.
